Forest Based Livelihoods, agroforestry and Community Institutions Development

The Program Director (Livelihood Initiative) will lead initiatives to promote forest-based livelihoods and address the economic vulnerabilities of marginalized communities through the strengthening of community-based collectives. This role requires strategic planning, policy analysis, implementation, and scaling of livelihood programs to align with Vasundhara's mission. Where IFR/CFR claims are recognized integrate MGNREGS and other government schemes to improve productivity of agriculture and ensure sustainable development and management of water resources to increase family incomes. Ensure women’s leadership and skill development in all programs to move towards gender equity.

Community Forest Rights and Governance (Writing tribal land rights limit the scope of the position and work. We can write ‘Community Forest Rights and Governance)

We are looking for a Program Director to lead a multi-talented and diversified team within Vasundhara working on programs on Forest Rights, Community Forest Governance, Conservation, and forest-based livelihoods. The Program Director will be responsible for overall coordination and mentoring of a multi-disciplinary team, and for networking with diverse civil society organizations, government agencies and policy makers to realize the core objective of the organization.

Core Responsibilities:

• Overall coordination of Program activities of the thematic teams including program planning, implementation and monitoring;
• Capacity Building of the Vasundhara team and partners/collaborators involved in the programs;
• Networking with Civil society organizations, government agencies (state and central government) and policy makers;
• Coordination with donors or support agencies;
• Preparation of Progress reports/ project reports as required by the organization;
• Preparation of project proposals and assistance in fund raising activities for the programs;
• Lead programs related to the Forest Rights Act (FRA) and governance of community forest resources.
• Facilitate training and capacity-building workshops.
• Engage with government officials and other stakeholders for policy advocacy.
• Conduct research and documentation to support forest rights initiatives.

Capacity Building and Training

The Program Officer (Training Coordinator) will develop and deliver training programs to enhance stakeholders' capacity to implement the Forest Rights Act, PESA, and forest governance frameworks effectively.

Core Responsibilities:

• Design training modules and manuals on forest rights and governance.
• Conduct workshops and capacity-building sessions for community leaders, government officials, and NGO partners.
• Focus on gender equity in all training materials
• Ensure Gender equality in knowledge sharing and learning
• Collaborate with local and national stakeholders for knowledge exchange and resource mobilization.
• Document and report training outcomes and impacts.

GIS and Spatial Analysis

The Program Officer (GIS Expert) will provide technical expertise in spatial analysis, mapping, and data-driven decision-making to support forest management, land rights, and natural resource conservation initiatives.

Core Responsibilities:

• Develop GIS-based tools and maps to aid decision-making processes.
• Conduct spatial analysis and generate reports for various projects.
• Train team members and stakeholders on GIS applications.
• Coordinate with thematic teams inside Vasundhara and external partners for data integration and analysis.

The Program Coordinator (National) will coordinate Vasundhara's national-level programs, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and fostering partnerships across states and with state governments and civil societies.

Core Responsibilities:

• Coordinate national-level projects and initiatives.
• Build and maintain partnerships with state-level and national stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with project objectives and deliverables.
• Develop reports and presentations for national forums.

Human Resources

The Program Officer (HR Manager) will oversee HR processes, ensure staff welfare, and enhance organizational compliances.

Core Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement appropriate HR policies and procedures.
• Manage recruitment, onboarding, and staff development.
• Ensure compliance with labour laws and organizational policies.
• Foster a positive workplace culture and address staff grievances in consultation with Team leads and Executive Director.
• Ensure there is no conflict of interest during recruitment processes
• Ensure POSH committee functioning effectively
• Report HR issues to the Board through the Executive Director

Resource Mobilization

The Fund-Raising Officer will design and implement strategies to secure financial resources and ensure the sustainability of Vasundhara's initiatives.

Core Responsibilities:

• Develop fundraising strategies and proposals in collaboration with senior management team.
• Identify and engage potential donors and funding agencies.
• Build partnerships and collaborations for resource mobilization.
• Monitor and report on fundraising outcomes.
